Biography
Sold out shows and a merchandise hungry fan base are just part of the gig for Calgary, Alberta’s Dreams of Reason, who remain proud of their underground status. “Justin Bieber and Myley Cyrus are where it’s at for the masses these days, but there’s a pretty solid underground that craves the power and excitement of rock ‘n roll,” exclaims guitarist Alex Whitcombe. “We have more in common with bands like the Stone Temple Pilots and Led Zeppelin than we do with modern pop-rock artists, but that puts us in some pretty good company. We sold 3,000 copies of our last disc independently and I’m proud to say that our new album really showcases our best material to date. Let’s hope we can add a few zeros to those sales ‘cause people really need to hear this record!”. |

Radically Poetic comes from a dark place lyrically, reflecting on personal turmoil that plagued the band during its two year development process. In a moment of reflection, Alex had this to offer: “We were so focused on writing our new album, that we were neglecting every other aspect of our lives. We lost our day jobs; friends, family and some of our band brothers along the way. I guess you can’t be considered an artist if you haven’t bled for your work.” |
