Hi. We’re Blackstream Records, an eclectic Canadian indie label that likes to discover and release cool music by bands that don’t necessarily fit the mould. While our flagship artist, Dreams of Reason rocks out in the melodic hard rock genre, we’re open to artists of any genre. If it’s cool, original, and even slightly ground-breaking we’ll probably dig it.

The label started off specializing in the hard rock genre, looking for bands that showed an edgy modern rock aesthetic while embracing elements of the past. We haven’t moved away from our roots, but we’re on the prowl, looking to work with artists that are willing to go the distance and write some kick ass tunes on their journey to the top.

We love experimental music and know that many of you do as well! You probably get the drift that our mantra is that we like bands that are operating slightly off the beaten path. Why? Well, we get asked this all the time, so let’s address it. Blackstream Records and its business partners are adept at building buzz really quickly, but in order to do that we’ve gotta roll with what we know best – music we believe in. With the music industry landscape changing dramatically over the last ten years, it’s important for the Blackstream team to sign bands willing to build their careers organically, one brick at a time.
